The Mayor was running a little late and was tied up in a very important meeting, probably about the Tucson traffic or something. It wasn't long before Mayor Walkup walked into the reception area and greeted us with proclamation in hand. We all stood up as if someone had yelled "attention".All I can say is that he looked great! Something told me that he knew everything about anything! I conducted the introductions which ended with an invite into the office! What a great view of the Catalinas, let me tell you! The Mayor proceeded to talk about the various dance styles that he had studied. Here we were in the Mayor's office and he was talking our language! Immediately we felt at ease and welcomed at that moment.

We took the opportunity to present to the Mayor TSDC's symbol of excellence - the glass mug! Included in the symbol was two free passes for our Thursday night gatherings. He was so appreciative, that I thought he just might just show up to have a hot dog the very next night at out Anniversary Party! We continued to converse about dancing just like we were old friends! What an impressive person!
 
 

We quickly lined up for a few pictures with the proclamation clearly in sight. As I was standing there, I kept thinking - what a great day for TSDC, what a great day for it's members!
