Letter from the President

Good luck to the Wildcat Basketball team during March Madness, hope you go all the way!

As you know we are in election season and the nominees are all lined up ready to be elected in April and take over as the incoming Board of Directors. You can still run for office as a write in candidate if you so choose!

I realized I have only two more letters to write after this one, to the great members of TSDC. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support for the last two years. It is one thing to keep this club running, but to keep it running while executing changes and activating ideas is another matter altogether. Change is difficult and I think the last two Board of Directors met that challenge and succeeded. Not all of it was smooth sailing, but for the most part it was! What made it work was the participation and cooperation of members! When I needed something, there was always a willing member to help out with a contribution of some kind. You guys are what makes this club! I had only two missions: One was to always think about the Club first and strive to make the Club a participating partner with something to gain in all transactions. Two, was to be fair and treat everyone (e.g. all members, all dance instructors, all dance clubs, all dance studios, and all project coordinators) with equality, and expect the same treatment in return. 

This strategy could only result in a good reputation for the Tucson Swing Dance Club as a whole. I personally think the stategy has worked. We now must move on and offer our support to the incoming Board of Directors, because by doing so means a continued solid foundation for all of us as members in our quest in learning the West Coast Swing dance. I cannot stress how important it is for have members to be involved in the operation of Club business and projects. It makes things so much easier and so much more fun for all. The Tucson Swing Dance Club is a great organization, let's keep the ball rolling!
