Letter from the President

Summer is here and the temperatures are climbing! The snow birds and the University students pack up and leave the Old Pueblo for a few months, freeing up our roads from heavy traffic, a perfect time to join us at the TSDC every Thursday. We have an air conditioned room, great dance floor, fabulous music, terrific dance classes and a host of great dancers. What more do you need!? As a member, bring a guest and show them what a great club we have.

Excitement is in the air as we look forward to the upcoming Fourth Of July Convention, hosted by the Greater Phoenix Swing Dance Club. The best of luck to all Tucson competitors. This convention is a wonderful tune up for our very own TSDC Jack and Jill Finals, rapidly approaching on August 15, 2002. Big cash and great prizes are up for grabs. It is going to be great summer fun, so stay cool by dancing at the TSDC.

Two board positions are yet to be filled - Music Director and Publicity Director. If interested, please let any board member know.

Thank You For Being a Member,

Members Writing Articles

by Bob Firl

Some of you have already read this in an e-mail sent May 20, 2002. Each and everyone of you has an opportunity to write an article for the newsletter. This year I would like more member participation in this endeavor.

Earline Kay's May article is the first of many. The article can be about West Coast Swing, other dances, experiences at a dancing convention, dance competition, etc. Essentially anything dance related that you think other members would like to know or find interesting is eligible. I will proofread it and communicate with you about content and offer

suggestions as appropriate.

All that is necessary is to let me know, or just write something up and e-mail it to me. Note that my e-mail address is no longer rfirl@flash.net but rdfirl@covad.net. I have canceled my Flash Net account. Thanks in advance for your support.
